Area
  1. Make a new slide (Ctrl+M).
  2. Title it "Area," or "Size," or something like that.
  3. If you are researching a country find the area of your country at CIA Factbook and the area of the United States. If you are studying a state, click here to find the areas of Texas and your state. You'll have to click on geography after you click on the state.
  4. Type a division problem using the area on your slide and label the numbers. Remind the studnets that the bigger number goes first.
  5. Open the calculator tool on your computer. You can usually do this by click the start menu and selecting "All Programs" and then by going to accessories.
  6. Divide the two areas and type your answer on your slide.
  7. Have students round to either the nearest whole number or to the nearest tenth.
  8. Have students generate answer statement based on the data, i.e. "Texas is twice as large as _"
  9. Type the statement on your slide after the equation.
  10. Click "Save" and that's it.
